Invading Virus
Posted May 01st 2008 in the Exclusives, General, LASH, Releases, Shop section
BrainBulb presents an official, super-limited Popsoda release by the talented artist, LASH. Invading Virus—limited to only 32 unique, hand-painted pieces, with only 20 available to the general public—measures 6″ tall and comes in a special biohazard bag with custom header. In addition, a lucky few will receive a small mystery print with their purchase.
LASH (short for Last Dying Wish) is a humble artist, influenced by all around him, but dedicated to his own distinct aesthetic. He possesses a great admiration for other artists and their work, whether they be famous or not—people who have a general passion for their art. In his words, “We all have our own takes on all things and that inspires me.”
Kaiju and Japanese culture hold a special place in LASH’s life. Interestingly enough, when it comes to Kaiju, LASH expresses an appreciation for the figures more than anything. He states, “The toys don’t rely on paint to make them something, or make them better.” Considering LASH’s technical talent and eye for color, we found this statement especially refreshing.
In a time when some exploit the Kaiju name, in an attempt to cash in on the latest craze, we consider ourselves fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such an artist, one who understands and values the culture and history of the Kaiju toy. We, like him, strive to keep the art and culture away from the hands of money hungry artists and collectors.
Please note that about half of the pieces will be available for pre-order on May 1st at 3pm EST here, with the rest available May 8th at 10pm EST.
If you would like to see more of LASH’s work, please visit here.

New Updates to BrainBulb
Posted April 07th 2008 in the General section
Welcome to the new-and-improved site! The most obvious change is our new main domain name, bbulb.com; until now, bbulb.com was only a shortcut. Now it pervades our entire online presence; we’ve even updated our email addresses, so you don’t have to type as much (don’t worry, all messages to our old email addresses are forwarded to our new ones; we won’t miss a thing during the transition).
We’ve also added a couple of new pages, namely the artists page and a new forum. The artists page describes the artists we have worked and/or are working with. We hope to add more and more artists to the page as we continue to grow; as a matter of fact, we have a couple of names to add in the near near future! The forum is a place to connect with our customers and the community in general. Check it out, sign up and talk with us directly.
BrainBulb has also updated the shop. Take a look, help support us with a purchase, and tell your friends about us while you’re at it! We’re also working on a new pre-order method, one that is better for both you guys and us. Keep an eye out.
Please stay tuned for more from BrainBulb; feel free to bookmark us, and don’t forget to sign up to our newsletter. We look forward to our future with you.

Bloodbath Set
Posted October 15th 2007 in the Exclusives, General, Henry Lichtmann, Releases section
UPDATE: Prints have just arrived, and are ready to ship! Click here to purchase. Less than half of the edition are available.
BrainBulb is proud to present an exclusive, limited edition set of giclée prints from the creative mind of Henry Lichtmann, aka H. The Bloodbath Set—limited to only 25—includes the Bloodbath Gun (13″ x 19″) and Bloodbath Grenade (8.5″ x 11″), and is expected to sell out quickly.
H. is a self-taught artist and native of Brazil. Though surrounded by a rich and vibrant culture, H. often looks within himself to produce a personal rather than regional art form. He is motivated by the small details of life, the simple things he extracts from his conversations and relationships with friends and family.
He is most gratified by the works that are the result of a new experience. The Bloodbath Set is one such result. As many come to learn, much of H.’s work is of a non-violent nature. Yet the Bloodbath Set challenges this notion.
The Bloodbath Set came to fruition almost by accident. While working with a simple 3-color pallet of red, black and white, H. recalled an all but abandoned gun design from a few months back. The image of the gun and color red clicked. It came quite naturally. H. recalls: “I never intended to create something violent—actually, I don’t like blood at all. But that specific night, I saw the blood as something beautiful.”
We are excited to present this set, and expect to work more with H. in the future. If you would like to purchase the set, we have a few available for pre-order in our shop here for only $49.95. The rest of the lot will be available when we receive the prints back from the artist, as they are currently en route, waiting to be signed and numbered.
Stay tuned, as H. has another color scheme in the works!
Media Fear 1
Posted September 15th 2007 in the Exclusives, General, Shop section
BrainBulb presents a Max Grundy semi-exclusive—a large format, 6-color screenprint of one of his best works! This piece was previously only available as a small format giclée print, and is now long sold out.
Max Grundy is a thought- provoking artist, focused on the subject of fear and the media. His work, imbued with a love and fascination for Minimalism, Pop and Propaganda art, is driven by his post-9/11 perspective.
Media Fear 1 is a serious study and expression of this perspective. The piece—started on the very day the two planes transfixed this nation—communicates the anxiety and surrealism the event evokes. However, it simultaneously mocks the media’s portrayal of such events, events that are often exploited for the purpose of generating ad space.
Each print is signed and hand-numbered by the artist, and limited to only 150. The screenprints measure 18″ x 25″ and are printed on high quality archival paper.
We here at BrainBulb are proud to carry Max Grundy’s work, and look forward to future collaborations.
If you are interested in purchasing this print, we have a limited number available here for only $74.95. Don’t miss your chance to own this.
And make sure you visit www.fearisthenewbeauty.com to read more about this artist and see more of his work. You won’t regret it!
DJ Autodactyl Mixes
Posted July 04th 2007 in the Autodactyl, Exclusives, General, Releases, Shop section
We here at BrainBulb have just added two mixes to our shop, both by DJ Autodactyl.
The first mix, Emergence, was previously only available as part of the Emergence Set (more information available here). It’s an eclectic, 80-minute mix, produced in very limited quantities, with new cover art. Please visit our audio page if you would like to listen to a sample of the mix.
The second mix, Drowning Out the Rest…, is DJ Autodactyl’s first work, and is limited to only 100 copies worldwide. It too is an eclectic mix, and one not to pass up on. We just came across a very small stash of these, so if you want a copy, grab one today before they’re all gone.
Both of these limited edition mixes are available in the music CDs section of our shop for only $4.95! Grab both today.
